Lopburi

Lopburi is an olderly town located in the central plains of Thailand and it is the capital of Lopburi Province. The town was formerly known as Lawo. This place is just 3 hours from Bangkok and tourists and local people find this place an escape to get rid of city stress and polluted environment. The place is full of history, attractions and other things. But the place is quite low in many areas.

Attractions of Lopuri.
Lopburi has various attractions for tourists. The place is full of monuments, temples, waterfalls, parks and other attractive places for adventure sport. Here are few attractions of Lopuri. They are Wang Kan Luang Waterfall: This is just 12 km ride from the center of the city. The waterfall flows all the year round. A perfect place for retreat and tranquility.
Wat Khao Somphot: This is a famous Buddhist temple located in the Chai Badan district. The mountainous temple has 19 caves which are decorated with stalactites and stalagmites.
Lop Buri Zoo: This is plce for family and children visit. The 25 acre enclave is one of the famous zoos for Australian and Asian birds and mammals. The most attraction of the zoo is the three tigers who a dog fed and their harmonious existence.
Sunflower Field: Lopburi has the credit of having the largest sunflower field in Thailand. This is located in Phatthana Nikom District. During the months from November to January the panoramic sunflower field becomes a major tourist attraction. Things to Do In Lopuri:
Getting around in Lopuri is very easy because of their bus service throughout the town. The place is great to roam around, shop the local artisans works, eat and drink their local beer and wine. The place has some excellent bars and restaurants with DJ music, dance floor and bar facilities. Rock climbing at Cheen Lair is an adventurous sport which you can do in Lopburi. It is locted in the Mountain near Suwannahong Temple.
How to Reach Lopuri?
The place is well connected by bus, rail and air transport. It only takes two hours by bus from Ayutthaya another important town in Thailand. It is just 3 hours drive from Bangkok by both bus and train and you get both Air conditioned and non air conditioned buses plying every twenty minutes from Bangkok Bus Terminus. Train journey from Ayutthaya takes only one hour to Lopuri.
