Grand Palace One of the places of tourist interest is the Grand Palace in Thailand or Phra Borom Maha Ratcha Wang. It was used as the royal palace 18th century onwards till King Bhumibol shifted the royal residence to Chitralada Palace. It has the same premises of Wat Phra Kaew or to be precise it starts at the exit of the latter. The Grand Palace was built in the year 1782 and is famous for its architecture which is a manifestation of the craftsmanship of the Siamese.

The Grand Palace in Thailand is divided into three sections. The outer court used to have the government departments and administrative office. The outer court had the Temple of Emerald Buddha. The central part was the residence of the royals. Usually the royal ladies and children used to stay at this place of the Grand Palace.
