Vimanmek Palace

Vimanmek Mansion is one of the mansions owned by King Rama V of Bangkok. It was built in the 1900s. It is one of the world’s largest mansions made of teakwood and gold. The style is very innovative and the architecture is of utmost grandeur. The architecture of the building resembles the western influence on it. It has two wings on either side, both at right angles. Each of the wings is 60 meters in length and breadth. The building has five sections in total, and 22 wide rooms. There are three storey in the Vimanmek mansion overall. The ground floor of the building is made up of bricks and cement. The top floor is made up of marvelous golden teakwood. All of this gives the building the outstanding structure in the 21st century and helps it to stand apart in the world.

The Vimanmek mansion has become a tourist spot now and is famous in the world for is beautiful architecture. The Dusit Garden is located behind the mansion and it was a recreation place for the King in his time. It was the summer place for the King near the island. The building also has a museum which is open on weekends and holidays. The site of the building is quiet, and away from the noisy streets. The security of the place is very tight because of the importance of the King. Every visitor has to wear a special dress in order to enter the place. The gardens of the palace are full of tropic plants and many more flowers which gives the palace a grand look.
