  • CHAI –NAT – A historical Destination in Central Thailand This small province is situated on the east bank of the Chao Phraya river in Central Thailand. It derived its name from the fact that this was where the thai army met and fought the Burmese army and every time the Burmese were defeated. The name means “ a place of victory. It is divided into six districts Amphoe Muang chai Nat being the most popular one.

    Chao Phraya Dam
    The nation’s first large dam is located at the bend of the Bang Krabian River, Mu 3, Tambon Bang Luang. If you want to enjoy its scenic beauty you can stay at 600 baht per night in one of the 19 rooms it provides for tourists.
    There are nine prominent Wats to be visited .
    Chai Nat is also famous Wasan Crocodile Farm and Chai Nat Bird park with more than 100 birds inhabiting the park. It is just before entering the actual place. Do not forget to take a look at the monkeys near Wat Thammikawat. Another attraction Chai Nut National museum housed in a two storey Thai building shouldn’t be missed out.
    How to get there :
    Comparatively near to Bangkok with a distance about 194 Km. it can be reached either by car or by buses which ply daily from Mochit Bus terminal from 5.10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
    Accommodation: Manorom Resort and Spa,. Montri, Suk Chit , Chai Nat Thani , Nat Chaiyong Resort are a few to choose from. Other reasonable hotels too are available for travelers on a budget.
    Restaurants are a plenty to choose from- Nam Chai, Pu , Phen Napha to name a few . They offer a variety of palates from continental to international to local dishes.
    Its definitely a tourist destination not to be missed with all the comforts of a city life.
