  • Chiang Rai, located at height, is popular for its rich green belt, hill tribes and awesome locales.   • The province of Chiang Rai, first capital of Lanna Thai is beautifully located at north of Bangkok. It borders Myanmar to the north and Laos to the north and northeast respectively. The city, like other Thai cities and towns, has three main seasons. Average annual temperature is approximately 25 degree Celsius. October to February is the winter season with morning temperature averaging to 20 degree Celsius and the night temperature dipping to as low as 10 degree Celsius. March to May is hot with day temperatures soaring to 37 degree Celsius. August and September is rainy season and the average temperature during this time is approximately 25 degree Celsius.
    If you have special liking for sight seeing, then Chiang Rai has lots to offer. There are much of activities too out here. Doi Mae Salong, situated 40 Kilometers from Mae Chan is the home to new generation of e Chinese Nationalist soldiers. The region offers a spectacular view in the month of December and January, when you will find cherries blossoming everywhere. The ancient pagoda of Wat Phra That Doi Thong overlooking Mae Kok River is a nice place to explore by foot. The rich scenic beauty cannot be explained in words. Golden triangle Chiang Rai situated approximately eight kilometers north of Chaing Saen borders of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos. It was once the popular trading zone. The Songkran Festival at Chiang Saen is held in April every year. The festival comprises boat race in which four nations viz, Thailand, Laos, China and Myanmar compete. You can also indulge in horse riding trekking, swimming, snorkeling and other activities in Chiang Rai.
    The city is well connected by buses, trains and airplane services. However, the most cheapest, fastest and easily available transportation means in Chiang Rai is by train. It is comfortable too. Tickets are available easily without any need for prior bookings.
    Chiang Rai gives an ideal retreat of Traditional Thai cuisine, besides the western and Mediterranean cuisines. You can enjoy the taste of traditional white rice and jasmine rice along with fish, vegetables, meat, chicken, wines, whisky and lots more.
