  • Chiangmai aka Chiang Mai is the largest and culturally rich city of Northern Thailand. The city has a sub division into four wards namely Nakhon Ping, Srivijaya, Mengrai, and Kavila. Of these, the first three wards lie on the west bank, whereas the fourth one lies on the eastern bank of river Ping. The city has maintained its rich Thai tradition and you will also find hill tribe people interacting with foreign tourists. The city holds national importance to Bangkok and is surrounded with scenic forests and mountainous landscapes.

  • Located at distance of 700 km (435 mi) north of Bangkok , Chiang Mai is popularly categorized amongst the highest mountain in the country. There are three climatic seasons in the city. Late October to February end is the coldest with average temperatures of 21 degree Celsius; Early March to end of May is considered as hot season with temperatures averaging 30 degree Celsius and early June to end of October marks the beginning of Rainy season with temperature averaging 25 degree Celsius.
    The city offers great Temple attractions to the foreign as well as local visitors. The temple of Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep located on the hill top, to the North West f the city is the must see attraction. It is the oldest temple and provides an awesome view of the city below it. The temple of Wat Phra Singh is also the oldest temple and is popular for having two figures of Lord Buddha, one made from marble, while the other one is made from crystals. Other Chiang Mai attractions includes revered temple of Wat Phra Singh and it holds Phra Singh Buddha. Wat Chedi Luang is the mammoth Lanna style chedi which holds Buddha’s preachings and his statue. Besides, there are many exquisite activities to indulge in Chiang Mai. A three day flower festival organized during the first weekend of February is a true to nature festival, when you can feel the fragrance and smoothing touch of fresh tropical flowers. The festival also exhibits traditional dancing shows; beauty contest; floral floats and much more. Worth seeing Elephant Camp located 60 km (37 mi) north of the city has been developed as the natural home to some odd 30 rescued elephants.
    You can reach Chiang Mai by hiring Bus, Train and Air. There are frequent and well efficient bus service which directly links the city to central and northern Thailand. Both Train and Bus services are easily available at affordable costs.
    The city offers different range of accommodations to tourists. There is innumerable chain of restaurants, entertainment centers, resorts, in Chiang Mai; which offers awesome nightlife.
