Koh chang

Thailand is full of tourist attractions. It's islands draw more tourists than its tech filled and advanced cities or other artificial tourist attractions of the place. Ko Chang is an island in the Trat Province situated in the Eastern Thailand. This place is located about 330 km from Bangkok and it is indeed the second largest Thailand Island. The place is not heavily populated but in the last few years tourism of the place has dramatically increased keeping the place a busy island almost all the year round.

The government too is trying to develop the place from a backpacker's paradise to a top level destination for tourists coming from different places of the world. The basic huts which are once a major accommodation for tourists are torn down to put fancy resorts and luxurious hotels.
The western side of island with sandy beaches is more attractive and busier than eastern beaches where you find no sandy beaches. The western Koh Chang's Beaches are full of attractions from sun bath to scuba diving, from fine resorts to great coconut plantations etc. The island is famous for nice waterfalls situated in different corners of the terra firma. The climate and weather is throughout the year is pleasant except the months of summer when the temperature is a little high.
How to Reach?
He place is well connected by air, water and road transport. There are two times daily flight from Bangkok to Koh Chang. The island is connected by bus service from different places in in Thailand. Ferries operate from Laem Ngop and Cetrepoint ferry stations to this issland. You get ground transport available in the airports or harbors ready to take you to the best accommodations around.
You can hire small motorcycles for 150-260 bahts to explore the mainlands of the island on your own. You also find taxi services in most places ready to take you to major tourist destinations. Some hotels where you stay provide 4X4 cars because some roads on the island are not comfortable for a smooth ride.
Places to see and Do:
Koh Chang Marine National Park. This national park comprises a part of Ko Chang and other 46 small islands. The place has some great spots for Snorkeling & Diving. You also have war memorial monuments in the island taking you to an era of its history of fight and valor.
White Sand Beach is located in the north west of the island and is a section of Hat Sai Khao. The place is one of the fastest developing beaches in Koh Chang. So the prices of accommodation are really rising high here. Still you find fine accommodation for 400 bahts per night. The major waterfall of the place include Klong Plu, Klong Nonsi, Klong Nueng, Khiri Petch and some others.
