The literal meaning of Surat Thani is the City Of Good People. It was the former seat of the Srivijya Empire. This city shared its boundaries with Gulf Of Thailand to the east and the north sides. It is located around 644 kilometers away from the Bangkok and it is the largest territory of the South that covers a total area of around 12,891 square kilometers.
