Uthai Thani

Uthai Thani is in the south side of northern Thailand. It's attraction is mainly natural beauty and prehistoric caves. It is well known for its flora and fauna. Its life and community has evolved around Sakae Krang River. In fact you can see the life styles of the raft residents who literally live on the river and have a unique way of living since a long time. You could say that this was where the water trade started and the place flourished into a well known trading province.

Those who want a quiet nature filled atmosphere with lots of greenery , hills and valleys and a plenty of trekking to the hills and want to see unique flora and fauna and wild animals , this is the place for you. You can make a pick of visiting about six different Wats or temples each known for its unique structure and history or go to see the natural waterfalls and botanical gardens or natural caves . The Must Sees are “Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Reserve” here was proclaimed a Nautral World Heritage Site on 13 December 1991. Tham Hup Pa That which is a valley that can be entered only from a cave. Its really very unique. The forests around there date from pre historic times.
Restaurants and hotels are typical of a tourist destination with one modern accomodation provided by Avatar near the huai Kha Khaeng Sanctuary.
How to reach there: There are daily regular and air-conditioned buses from Bangkok fron the Northern bus terminal at Mo chit and Uthai Thani bus Terminal leaving at 5 a. m. up to 4 p.m.you can also take a car and drive on Highway 32 pass Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and Road No.340 past Suphan Buri . The distance from Bangkok is about 323 Km maximum depending on the route you take.
